The driving force behind Malta’s architectural triumphs
During the 2024 Malta Architecture and Spatial Planning Awards (MASP), organised by the Planning Authority, Halmann Vella casts a significant shadow over the celebrated projects that achieved success. Across five exemplary endeavours, Halmann Vella’s expertise and dedication were pivotal in realising their architectural recognition.
Crafted by Box Concept Studio in collaboration with interior designers Simon Abela & Sara Brincat, the AX ODYCY Hotel in Qawra, stands as the epitome of luxury and functionality, earning an award for the Interior Architecture Award for Hospitality and Tourism Projects, a testament made possible by Halmann Vella’s meticulous attention to detail.
Another winning project recently completed by Halmann Vella in the Small Project Award, is the new entrance to the President’s San Anton Palace and memorial dedicated to Grandmaster Antoine De Paule in Attard, envisioned Austin Camilleri Studio and by Perit Andrew Sultana. An elegant trough with inscribed verses in stone’s timeless embrace, boasting Halmann Vella’s unparalleled craftsmanship.
In the realm of conservation, The Farsons Brewhouse in Mrieħel, by lead architects Ritchie Studio and TBA periti reflects the seamless blend of heritage preservation and contemporary design, won the Rehabilitation and Conservation Award. For this transformation Halmann Vella supplied the terrazzo tiles of all internal and external flooring.
Along with Dar Bjorn, Trident Park in Mrieħel, garnered acclaim for its revolutionary rejuvenation of both commercial and public domains. A triumph achieved through the unwavering dedication of Halmann Vella as the main contractor entrusted with the comprehensive execution of the finishing package throughout this remarkable transformation received a special commendation.
Achieving a special commendation the Restoration and Preservation Department’s work on the Jesuit Church Oratories in Valletta underscores Halmann Vella’s integral role in conserving Malta’s architectural heritage.
